Welcome to your Transcription Course exam. This is your chance to show what you have learned about careful listening, clean formatting, and practical tools. Take a deep breath, find a quiet spot, and ensure your headphones are comfortable. You have everything you need to do well.
The exam covers the full course, including what makes a good transcriptionist, Express Scribe basics, identifying multiple speakers, timestamps, hotkeys and shortcuts, improving poor audio quality, grammar and punctuation, and time management. Questions are straightforward and based on real situations you will meet on the job.
Please read each question carefully and choose the best answer. Some questions have one correct answer, one or two may accept more than one correct option, the instructions will make that clear. You have 30 minutes to finish, the pass mark is 80 percent, and you can retake the exam if you do not pass on the first go.
You may use a simple style guide, a dictionary for proper names, and your own notes from the lessons. Do not use automated tools to answer questions. Focus on accuracy and consistency, just as you would for a client.
